Day 8 of Caricature Resolution calls for a caricature of: LEONARD NIMOY As discussed previously, just drawing the easily-recognized famous role of an actor, rather than just relying on the resemblance to the actor themselves may be taking the easy way out, but I really had to draw Nimoy as […]
Day 7 of Caricature Resolution calls for: CARRIE FISHER A lot of these celebrity subjects in the list suggest a certain iconic role they are best known for, visually, anyway. Yesterday’s Heath Ledge and the Joker, for instance. I stayed away from the impetus to do that visually striking character both […]
Day 6 of Caricature Resolution is here and the subject is: HEATH LEDGER Sure, I love the Joker in The Dark Knight, but that character has been drawn so many times, that it seems boring and redundant to do it again here. So, ow about a real groaner of a pun […]
Day 5 of Caricature Resolution 2018 calls for actor/comedian: ROBIN WILLIAMS In case you were wondering, there is a theme to these caricature choices: they are all dead celebrities. This time, the late, great Robin Williams, who annoyed me as a standup/talk show guest, but who I adored as an […]
Day 4 of Caricature Resolution 2018 is: PRINCE I’m trying to keep all these the same dimensions, so the square shape I decided on (it helps to keep anything vital from being cut on on Instagram) isn’t always ideal for some vertical or horizontal leaning things, but other than those two […]

Day 3 of Caricature Resolution 2018 calls for: MICHAEL JACKSON …but with so many versions between Jackson-5-Michael and Daytime-Vampire-Defendant-Michael, I picked two and merged them with DC’s #CaptainMarvel and #BillyBatson changing the magic word from the Wizard’s acronym of #Shazam and making it instead the signature cry of Michael from many songs and […]
Caricature Resolution 2018, Day 2 is: KURT COBAIN I tried for a a more graphic style at first, but somehow the face got more and more detailed with realism while the hair, shirt and guitar stayed in the simplified graphical style. Maybe this will work as a new style combo? […]
Happy New Year! 2018 brings a new month-long art challenge: Caricature Resolution 2018. This year’s theme is celebrities that are no longer with us, having past away either recently or not so much. Day one’s challenge is: FREDDIE MERCURY Being a huge QUEEN fan, I especially enjoyed drawing their iconic […]
